Saint Joseph the Hesychast Handmade Wooden Orthodox Icon –16×24cm

Description

This handmade wooden Orthodox icon depicts Saint Joseph the Hesychast, an important modern saint associated with the spiritual tradition of Mount Athos.

Saint Joseph is depicted in his monastic habit holding an icon of the Mother of God. A large golden halo and the warm dark wooden background create a simple yet striking composition.

The icon is created on a 16×24 cm wooden base using the decoupage technique and individually finished by hand.

Saint Joseph the Hesychast (1897–1959), born Francis Kottis on the Greek island of Paros, dedicated his life to asceticism, prayer and the hesychast tradition on Mount Athos. His spiritual legacy had a significant influence on the revival of Athonite monasticism in the 20th century. He was officially canonized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 2020, and his feast day is celebrated on August 16.

A meaningful addition to an Orthodox prayer corner or Christian home, and a thoughtful religious gift for those devoted to Saint Joseph or the spiritual tradition of Mount Athos.
