Greek Orthodox Icon of Panagia Glykofilousa

The original icon was the property of Victoria, pious wife of iconoclast Simeon, who, in order not to hand it over, threw it into the sea. The icon, sailing upright on the waves, reached the arsenal of the Philotheu Monastery. At the point on the shore, where they deposited the icon, a holy water gushed forth.
