Our Lady of the Passion Wooden Icon – Panagia Amolyntos on 19mm MDF

Description

A wooden icon of Panagia Amolyntos, also known as Our Lady of the Passion, printed on 19 mm thick MDF.

The name “Amolyntos” derives from the Orthodox hymn meaning “Spotless, Undefiled and Immaculate.” She is also known as Our Lady of the Passion because the Angels on either side are depicted holding the instruments of Christ’s Passion: the Cross, the Spear and the Sponge. The Christ Child looks toward them in fear while the Virgin Mary holds Him protectively in Her arms.

A meaningful Byzantine icon for a prayer corner or home and a thoughtful Orthodox Christian gift for a loved one.
