Description
Honor the life and legacy of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver with this beautifully handmade wooden icon. A revered figure in Christian tradition, Saint Symeon lived in Jerusalem and was known for his righteousness, humility, and spiritual wisdom. Enlightened by the Holy Spirit, he awaited the fulfillment of God’s promise that he would not see death before beholding the Messiah.
This sacred moment came to pass forty days after the birth of Jesus Christ, during the Presentation in the Temple. Guided by divine inspiration, Saint Symeon met the Holy Family and took the infant Christ into his arms, proclaiming the well-known words of the “Nunc Dimittis” (Luke 2:29–32): “Lord, now let Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word.”
Saint Symeon is especially venerated as the protector of pregnant women and unborn children, making this icon a meaningful and spiritual gift for expectant mothers or families preparing to welcome new life. His feast day is celebrated every year on February 3 in the Orthodox and some Eastern Catholic Churches.
Crafted from quality wood and carefully detailed by hand, this icon is ideal for use in a home prayer corner, as a baptism or baby shower gift, or as a treasured devotional item for collectors of Christian and Byzantine iconography. The warm tones and traditional style evoke the reverence and grace of early Christian art.
Whether you’re purchasing it for yourself or gifting it to someone special, this icon of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver is a timeless expression of faith, hope, and spiritual devotion.
