The Life of Saint Jude the Apostle (Thaddeus) Saint Jude, also known as Thaddeus or Lebbaeus, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. He was the brother of James the Brother of the Lord and a relative of the Savior. After the Ascension of Christ and the descent of the Holy Spirit, Saint Jude began his missionary work, preaching the Word of God throughout Palestine, Syria, Armenia, and Persia.

He is the author of the Epistle of Jude, which is included in the New Testament. In Orthodox and Christian tradition, Saint Jude the Apostle is widely venerated as the patron saint of “lost causes” and difficult situations, offering faith, hope, and intercession to believers in times of trial.
